Flora in Penang
I like to trek in jungle and hiking but I am not flora enthusiast. I have been in jungle for so many times but never observe the flora that found in the jungle. I am also not a photographer and don't like to take photographs. But after starting to write blog I have to force myself to take photos so that I have new article to write. Below are some photos of flora that I took during my last hiking from Lily pond to 46 via Oliver Hill. Please guest the name by yourself as I am an oaf about botanic

Gunung Ledang
Gunung Ledang is located in Tangkak, Johor or just about 30 minutes from Air Keroh Toll, Melaka. This mountain is reputed to be haunted by a princess. Before arriving at the foot of Gunung Ledang, we must go pass a small town called Sagil, about 25km from the town centre of Tangkak.
Before entering the park, we had to pay RM10 per person and a deposit of RM50 for the camping gear and food. The park authorities were quite strict about picnickers/campers littering the area. The deposit would be forfeited if the park rangers noticed that campers did not clean up after themselves. With all the administrative details out of the way, we headed towards our destination at Kolam Gajah. It was an easy trail even though it was high noon by the time we started our hike because the tall keruing and meranti trees shaded us from the scorching sun.
Along the way, leafy shrubs and vegetation, some with brilliant red and yellow blossoms, grew in abundance on both sides of the trail. Colourful butterflies fluttered among the flowers searching for nectar. After about 20 minutes, we arrived at Kolam Puteri which has a beautiful waterfall. The waters thundered down from a height of more than 100 feet above, crashing over boulders and rocks before hitting the pool at the bottom and then meandering gently down the hill. Since it was near to the entrance of the park, tons of picnickers were already there.
The flora we saw on the way up was amazing - the monkey cup hanging off the trees. After walking for about another hour, finally we reached Kolam Gajah. We were about 2000 feet above sea level, and the air was chilly. Our organiser not allowed us to continue the hike because he said that it is dangerous, so we had no choice but to have a picnic and swam at Kolam Gajah.

Penang National Park
Penang National Park or formerly known as Pantai Acheh Forest Reserve is only 2562 hectare and it is in fact the smallest National Park in the world. The Park is surrounded by sea so there are beaches for families to spend some recreational time together. The most notable of all is, of course, Pantai Keracut.
Pantai Keracut is assessable via a hiking trail or boat. It is host to the unique Meromictic Lake, one body of water with sea and fresh water that never mix. It is also the home to an odd mix of both sea and fresh water creatures such as crabs and large prawns.
It might seem rather strange, but one of the main attractions of the beach is also a visitor - the green sea turtle. Pantai Kerachut is the green sea turtle's nesting spot and the only beach in Penang where they can be spotted. The Penang National Park has set up a turtle sanctuary to ensure that these amazing creatures continue their seasonal visits.
The beach is also a favoured picnic and camping area for families and tourists alike as there are many facilities such as changing rooms, bathrooms, campsite etc.
Others famous beaches are Muka Head, Teluk Ketapang, Pantai Mas, Teluk Duyung(Monkey's Beach) etc. All these beaches are assessable via boat or hiking trails. Of course all of them don't have any facilities like what we find in Pantai Kerachut. One can found a lighthouse that vigilantly watches over the sea since it was built in 1883. Visitors can take a walk up its staircase for a great 360-degree view of the surroundings.

Fraser Hill
Fraser Hill is about 1521 metre from sea level. It is located slightly to the north of Genting Highland and is about 40km from Raub, Pahang. The resort is about an hour and a half away from Kuala Lumpur via Kuala Kubu Baru. The road to the hill resort wind for about 35km after the Gap. There are many bamboo trees along the way. If you are Lucky you can see animals come out from the jungle especially during night time.
The beauty of Fraser's Hill is based primarily on its cool mountain air, its abundance of luxuriant vegetation, -- all of which have made it a favoured destination for bird watchers. While there are many other attraction to be found here. They are all pleasantly complementary to Fraser's Hill tranquil charms. There are jungle trails, waterfalls and flower nurseries, a very pleasant 9 hole golf course and a riding stable. Other facilities include a children's playground and a roller skating rink.
The distance between the summit and bottom of the hill through the tar road is about 8km but it will take you 20 minutes because the road is narrow and winding. As there is another road to go down hill so the driver is more relax because there are no on coming vehicles.
